HAPPY NEW YEAR! So sorry its been so long Lovies. I've been a very busy lady thanks to you. No, really, Thank You!

Today's blog inspiration comes from a lecture I gave back in November.... I hope you enjoy it.

    This past year (2010) I offended one of my friends on Facebook by making the statement 'Everything in life is a Choice.' Believe me, it was not my intention, but with out offending her, I never would have dug deeper into that statement.  I really believed it to be a true and accurate statement, but to really express it properly; I needed to dig further..... yes, I'm talking about FREE WILL. But before we get into that, let's go back to the beginning. 
    You are spirit. You are in heaven before you are born. You say to the God of Your Understanding or to the Universe, I want to grow & evolve. You know the best way to learn, is to experience for yourself....  So you stand in front of a giant black board (or white board) that is covered with words like: Integrity, Honesty, Humility, Loss, Unconditional Love, Forgiveness, Pain, Respect, Trust, Acceptance..... etc.  Some people pick 15, other people pick 45, but the average person picks out approximately 25 words.  Those 25 words are the focus of 25 lessons that you want to learn while spending time on earth. Then you look at the candidates for your mother (seeing the major events in her life), and you pick one. From her partners, you pick your father (seeing the major events in his life also).  Then you are born! You start growing up and all the while, you're learning the lessons.  You are living your life, and God or the Universe hands you a scenario. How you act, and react is completely up to you (free will), and therefore you may or may not learn the lesson that was intended. You see, we are in charge of WHAT we learn, we just don't get to pick HOW we learn it. That is up to God or the Universe to decide.
    Now, you ask, 'what happens if you didn't learn the lesson?'. Good question! Stop here, just a moment. Can you think of anything in your life right now that is REPEATING? It may not be exactly the same, but the main lesson seems similar? Or, is it worst than the last time? It's harder this time, isn't it? Right..... So you repeat the lessons until you get it.... and sometimes it takes lifetimes (yes plural) to get it. You can be repeating something for more than one lifetime, several in fact (but that's another story) and each time the lesson gets harder and harder. The whole point of life is the lessons. We want to evolve and better ourselves, and the best way to do that is to experience the lessons. It really is all about the experiences.
    So that brings me to the law of Choices. It all begins with what we chose before we got here. We no longer have any control over what we picked, but we do have control over how we react or act.  All we can do now is choose to make the best of it... choose to grow, to love, to connect, to give. Can you GROW into your current lessons? or will you turn your back, become bitter and resentful? Choosing to grow is not easy, we all know this, but it is necessary for survival. It comes down to Personal Responsibility. "We are responsible for our own progression or the unfolding of self.  When we can accept that how we act or react to any given situation or experience determines the outcome of that experience, we have taken the first step toward accepting personal responsibility. No one can force us, or make us do anything against our will. we have been given free will to accept or reject any of life's experiences that come our way. When we understand this principle fully, we stop looking for external sources to take the responsibility for anything that has happened or will happen to us. When we start acting instead of reacting to situations or experiences, than we have resumed responsibility for our lives and can start directing it according to our own desires. Regardless of the situations in which we find ourselves, whether they are of our own creation or outside circumstances which have drawn us into them, how they affect us becomes our responsibility. We must take this sense of responsibility into all areas of our lives, for the same rule applies, whether it involves family, community or universal situations. In the end, it will not matter what others think of us that will count, but what we think of ourselves. " (The Seven Principles of Spiritualism).
    Now, what about WHAT you picked to learn...... I've had many people ask me 'Why did I choose this?' or "what is the point of this lesson?" . I may be able to give you a direction on what it could be, but really, only you know the answer. You need to search your soul and ask it those questions. As they say, 'God doesn't answer the How or the Why, he just answers the Who, and When, and the answer is almost always YOU & NOW.'
    When I tell this to someone who is a parent, they often struggle with it. Being a parent myself, I know why. We (parents) tend to want to take away pain or grief from our children. What we don't realize is that this child, just like us, CHOSE these lessons, and by taking away the pain, grief or personal responsibility, we are taking away their lesson. What happens when we don't learn the lesson? Right, we REPEAT it! (heavy, right?). So, as much as you may feel like you are helping and protecting your child, spiritually, you may be stunting their growth! Just like us they need to experience to learn and grow.
    When we have learned all that we wish to learn, we can choose to go home. Some of you have heard me say that we have 5 (or so) opportunities to 'go home'. It is up to us when we decide to leave this earth. But the point being, maybe the person only had a 2 or 3 lessons to learn, and therefore decided to 'go home', what we would consider, early.  On the other hand, you may have fulfilled all of the lessons you intended to learn, and now you're just enjoying. Even death is a choice. (this again, is a topic for another day).
    Anyway, the long and the short of it is..... Everything in Life is a Choice. It's the perfect opportunity to take responsibility for where you are now and to passionately participate with intention, focusing on being in the present!

Hi Y'all! Sorry its been so long... Life gets crazy sometimes, as you all know.Now that I'm almost back into my regular routine, I'm attending Wednesday Night Open Meditation Classes at the Divine Light Spiritual Foundation. The Teacher is Mrs. Bonnie Galka, a lovely & well educated lady, who gives a very good guided meditation.

Each Wednesday Bonnie asks if anyone has any questions. Since the class is mostly attended by beginners, there is always at least one question. A few questions that have come up recently are: Why can't a Medium or Psychic get the information that I'm asking for?  Why should we seek the guidance of a Medium or Psychic, when the outcome or what they predict can change? and Whats the difference between a Medium and a Psychic?  Lol, of course it is a subject near and dear to my heart.... and Bonnie knows this, so she let me have the floor.

So... There is no guarantee that the medium can see what your asking of them. The thing is, we depend on spirit to bring forward what you need to know. They tell us what to tell you, not the other way around. They bring what they feel is important. Now, you may not feel it is important, but really, who are you to tell them (spirit) what is and isn't important? Don't you think they may know better than you? Also, just because it isn't important to you, doesn't mean its not important to someone else (your spouse, your kid, your friend), anyone you share the information with. You never know, it could mean the world to that other person, and you have no clue that they are even interested.  Now, say you have something in specific that you want to know about. We can certainly ask about it, but spirit may not be willing to share at this time. Yes, we get as frustrated as you do.

The whole point in seeking guidance is just that, to seek information. When you receive that information you have free will to follow it, or to change it. Sometimes just knowing that an event is going to happen stops it in its tracks, or changes the outcome. You have the ability to believe what the medium/psychic says, or you can choose to ignore it. Or say I tell you that I see a car accident in your future. By giving you that information, you will most likely change your driving habits (subconsciously) and may actually prevent it. I have a really great example of this if you ever get the chance to ask me about it.
The 3rd and final question is the one I had the hardest answering. I now realize that I had to live through working this past weekend at Oshawa Rib Fest, to be able to fully answer it. (I started this blog back at the beginning of August!). If you look under my FAQ's page you'll see these definitions:

Mediums ~ A medium has the ability to communicate with the spirits of the dead. This may be accomplished by channeling, in which the medium acts as a go-between for the other side. A good medium is also constantly updating their education in how to communicate.

Psychics ~ A psychic works at an intuitive level. Individuals who are psychic claim to have the ability to perceive information hidden from the normal senses via a "sixth sense" or extrasensory perception.

A medium may have psychic abilities, but a psychic may not be a medium.

I hope that helped a bit. I have found that most psychics don't do anything to keep up with learning new techniques or information. They feel that they do not need to. They just have to practice the gift that they were given.

I had the opportunity to meet a psychic while at the Rib Fest. She was a little perturbed that we (myself and other mediums/psychics) were there. Apparently she has been working Rib Fest since the beginning, and has never had any competition. I will say this, when people came to her and asked for someone who was in my tent, she actually sent them to us! I was shocked to learn that, and accompanied Shannon (the owner of my tent) to thank her for that.  Now.... I found it interesting that I was handed a brochure that talked about her psychic abilities, that she was a healer, reader and advisor (her spelling).  I loved this line on the inside cover "She will tell you why you came and how to solve it".  Other parts read: Let her be your solution. let her amaze you with her healing abilities to clear black magic, bad luck and evil forces! Put your heart and mind at peace knowing you can trust and believe once again. Specialize in removing any sorrow your heart has felt. Call Today for a better tomorrow.

This Amazing Lady is open 9 to 9, 7 days a week! There is a phone number for you to call, but no address..... or NAME? Really? NO NAME? That CANT be a Typo. Sorry, I'm sure someone would have caught that. This brochure has been printed by a professional printer.  I get not having an address on it, as I too work out of my home, but not a name? That I just don't understand. Where is the integrity? Why isn't she proud to put her name to what she does?

We had a few people come to our tent after visiting with her. 2 out of 3 were scared. Honestly scared! She had said that they had been cursed and that she couldn't remove the  curse there, (of course), but that they would have to book a private reading later in the week (of course). Oh by the way, that later reading was to the tune of $300! and that was just the 1st visit, it would take 3 or 4 (but of course). Also if she prays for your soul, that's another fee.

Oh, and don't ask her how she got the information.... she just knows..... really. She doesn't hear, see or feel spirit. None of the information comes from spirit. Just her.

God knows I'm not perfect, but at least I'm honest. I stand behind my work. I am the real deal. And I never take the glory for spirit... as we mediums say... 'From Spirit, THROUGH Spirit, To Spirit." . I'm just the messenger.  I also don't scare people into seeing me again. I actually tell them not to come and see me before 6 months. People need time to let things unfold. I also remind them that they have free will, and that ultimately how their life turns out is really up to them. I try to suggest ways they can improve their life themselves (like through eduction, readings or classes, meditation, physical activity, or by seeking out medical guidance.)

I have testimonials, I teach workshops on self improvement (and don't charge an arm & a leg). I'm constantly taking classes and reading books. I don't gouge when it comes to my fees (private or parties). Everyday I answer questions to clarify something that came up in a reading for a client. I do that at no charge.

I always tell people it's not about the money. I use the money towards my retirement, taking my family on vacation and some of the niceties that life has to offer. I don't need the money. I do it to help. I love to help people connect with their loved ones. I love to help people see different avenues that are coming up for them. I love helping people.

Anyway, I hope that helps people know what to look for when looking for help & answers from the divine (spirit).  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them. I welcome the discussions.
