This past week I had a great question asked: Truly how do our past lives effect this life?

You’ll remember that how we get this life it through a series of choices we decide on with the Divine (God of your understanding or Universe). We then descend to earth, to be a twinkle in mum’s eye until our physical body is conceived.  This is the beginning part of our journey here in this life.

We are then born, live and learn lessons. Fast forward through your life to the moments before passing. While in reflection you realize you’ve had some pretty amazing lessons. Most people work on Unconditional Love, Respect, Integrity, Honesty, Humility, Fear, Gratitude, Compassion, Greif, & Loss, just to name a few! You’ve hopefully learned them all….. ;o) So, once you cross the veil, you meet up with your loved ones & start your journey through the (for simplicity sake) 3 dimensions, Earth, Limbo & Heaven.

Once through Earth & Limbo, we reach ‘heaven’ or the afterlife. When we reach this point we do something I call ‘Life Review’. Other religions call this ‘the judgement’, but since I’m in the belief that God (the universe), loves us unconditionally, I can’t see why he/they would ever pass judgement on us. Life review is really about giving us the opportunity to learn or reflect on all we have done & said in this life time. Its like the Final Exam, where life is the in class lessons…. Get it? While in review, we do not have contact with the outside world. For the most part it really is like an exam because if any one comes knocking trying to connect with you they are usually turned away. Once this review is complete, we get our free will back to come and go as we please.  Most people come & visit their loved ones who are still living in the earth dimension. Others go off to school to learn new things. Some go & do things they didn’t get to accomplish while they were here on earth.

Now eventually you may decide to come back to the earth dimension as a human again! (how exciting). So you would start the process of picking what lessons you’d like to work on this time around. You then pick your mother & father and carry on as you would have before.  Now, the difference being, you have something to work off of now. I think some of the lessons are ‘required’ (unconditional love, grief, loss) but you have a ton of ‘electives’ to pick (ex: betrayal, confusion, self-reliance). You have already had one life, so you can now build on to those experiences with new experiences. The Soul has a metaphysical DNA, which is very similar to our physical DNA where in it contains the history of us. It is entirely made up of all of the experiences that have ever happened to us.  Our own personal Akashic Records.

You become born again (tee hee), or you start living a 2nd life. You start working on the new lessons you have chosen. Well since your soul DNA remembers all that happened in your 1st life, you can imagine how your soul would recognise a similar situation, and depending on the way the similar situation turned out in the 1st life, will either react the same or differently in the 2nd life.

I know, its complicated. Here is a True (Truly) Life example:

In your 1st life shortly after you were born, your mother died. Your family rallies around you and you are well loved. Although you are well looked after, it’s still not the love of the same woman who brought you into this world and therefor you have a sense of abandonment. You grow up to have a great life & die happy.

Now, you come back in start your 2nd life.  Your mother has a pretty good pregnancy all the way along. You are both healthy & happy. During labour, your soul’s DNA remembers that your mother ‘abandoned’ you shortly after being born.  You then become undecided as to whether or not you really want to be here. You could be abandoned again. This could be why a labour becomes stalled, or your umbilical cord becomes wrapped around your neck. This could also be why babies flip in the last weeks of pregnancy and become breach.

See how your soul DNA totally changed the direction of what could have been? Isn’t that amazing? My poor Mum! God bless you Mum!

Our Past lives can play havoc in other areas of our current lives too. If you’ve ever had a reading with me you may have heard me speak about ‘Karmic Bleed Over’.  Others refer to this as ‘Morphic Resonance’ but I feel it’s a bit different. Here are the definitions:

Morphic Resonance: “the basis of memory in nature…. The idea of mysterious telepathy-type of interconnections between organisms and of collective memories within a species.” Example: You think you remember someone or something from somewhere, but there is no possible way you have been in contact with or in this space before.

Karmic Bleed Over: When the Life lessons (Karma) from a previous life time, interferes (bleeds into or over) this current life time, and usually wreaks havoc in it.  Example: You are happily married, then you meet someone who you can’t seem to pull away from. Your Soul DNA remembers this person from a previous life where the two of you were lovers but unable to stay together for whatever reason.  You end up falling for this person in this life & leave your spouse for them. The beginning of your relationship is great, but it ends up fizzling out shortly after you’ve been together for a while. You miss your Spouse, your family, your old life but you cannot go back.  

Unfortunately Karmic Bleed Over is usually not a positive influence. It is hard to see the difference between the two, especially when you are in it.

Now for those of you who are old souls, can you see how this could be a challenge if you don’t clear out your Soul’s DNA? This is the reason why I started teaching the ‘Complete Cellular Mind & Body’ (CCMBA) Workshop. It releases the Soul’s DNA, well some of it at least. You can also release it through ‘Past Life Regression’ work.  In my experience I’ve found it clears faster with CCMBA.

Hello lovies! Sorry it's been so long. I've had my hands full, literally. Lol. Graham arrived the 1st of September, & does not like being put down. (What new baby does?lol) he has been a real blessing. His birth story is an interesting one.....

I started having contractions around 3 am. I paced & danced across the floor to cope. Around 4 am, I woke my hubby up & asked him to time the contractions while I was in the shower (water helps me big time). So into the shower I climbed, ready to let the warm water beat down on my back. I think I was in for 10 minutes or so when I heard 'Truly, call your midwives. It's time'. I grabbed the wall in shock, my pour husband thought I was having a contraction. All I could think was, 'could it be? Was it really him?'. I then heard 'well I can't very well come in the shower with you & you need to get your arse in gear & get to the hospital. He's coming.' I broke out laughing histerically. My pour hubby, I really wish he could hear what I hear. The reason why I was laughing was because I was hearing my dad for the first time in over 10 years & he was being a cheeky bugger (where I get it from I'm sure). He was there when I needed him most. You see, I've always been able to 'see' my dad after he crossed, just not hear him. I chalked it up to it being too raw or emotionally overwhelming for me. You see most mediums, can't do for themselves. We too have to find a medium to connect with our own loved ones. When I explained to Kyle who it was & why I was laughing he immediately got on the phone with the midwives & started getting ready. I had Tom, my 1st little guy (incidentally named after my dad), at home. It was a beautiful birth which I hoped to repeat. Complications prevented me from having my home birth so I was told I MUST go to the hospital. Normally, I'm not one to argue when it comes to our safety but I had some huge reservations. Hospitals are like hot spots for mediums. There is a tremendous amount of metaphysical activity in & around them. Just think of all the people who go there to pass away. Anyway my worries were eased a bit as now I knew my dad would be there to protect me while I was giving birth. When I arrived at the hospital I wasn't able to focus much (6am). I had planned to use hypnobirthing for pain management like I did with Tom, but the spirits kept me too distracted. They were a talkative bunch & I had to remind them I couldn't help them at this exact moment & that they would have to wait. By 9 am I was given extra hormones & laughing gas for the pain. Dad had them lining up at the door, each one waiting to tell me their story. My dad was a police officer, so he was always good at crowd control, lol. At 12 noon, Graham finally arrived. I could hear my Dads words of encouragement & congratulations in my ears. My wishes to be left alone (by Other spirits) was honored for the next hour. When all the commotion was over (baby testing, getting dressed, etc) there they were,at the door, waiting for me. I listened as best I could & helped those I could. It was not easy. I was exhausted, but I knew I had to try. I was released by 2 pm & headed home with my new baby.

Since then, I have gone back to the hospital to try to help the others. It is very difficult as the family they want to connect with are not usually there anymore & I can't get enough information to go looking for them. It's become a habit of mine to surround our local hospital with love & light on almost a nightly basis. I encourage those spirits to cross over. Reminding them that they have more free will once they have crossed than staying here.

Since the arrival of Graham, I have heard my dad once more. But I have not seen him. I don't understand why, or the reasoning behind it. All I know is that it was absolutely awesome to hear that old familiar voice, telling me how proud of me he was & how much he loved me.

Hello Dear Ones,

I had a moment, so I thought I'd address an issue that seems to come up quite frequently in my line of work...... Ouija Boards.

Sigh, to be honest, I'm really not a fan. When used properly, they can be accurate tools of divination, but rarely are they used with the reverence that they deserve. Hasbro has made a game of connecting to the other side. I hear they now make them in Pink..... Yes, that's just what I want my daughter to play with, a pink tool of divination used to connect with the other side. Come on, where is the responsibility or accountability!

Anyway, like any tool of divination, you need to have respect for it, and the power behind it. I think its amazing that people who have knowledge of the other side, just pick it up and start playing. Yes, I totally understand curiosity, but honestly would you do that with a steam powered engine, a kitchen stand mixer or a rifle? NO, you wouldn't. You would read the instructions, and maybe even ask a friend who knows something about it to help you understand it better before you played with it. You should do the same with a ouija board if you decide you really want to use it.

You should also start with a prayer. Make sure to protect yourself. It does not have to be anything fancy, but it does have to ask for protection for all in the room, and it does have to be done with pure intent.  How do you know WHO you are inviting in is actually from the "Light" and not the "Dark"? Yes of course you can ask them, but who's to say they aren't lying? Validation & verification are key, for anyone who is using a divination tool.  I validate & verify constantly in my own practice.  The other thing I'd really like to stress is how to close the communication. Be sure to say goodbye in a strong loud voice. This is telling the spirits that they are no longer welcome and that they should go back to whence they came. You could also do another prayer asking that everyone who attended be safely returned to their homes (living & dead).  Even with all this, I suggest that if you are a novice, then please, ask someone with a background in spiritual world to train you or to at least sit in on a session with you. As you can tell, I'm still not a fan.

Now, as for things that go bump in the night...... My favorite! lol, just teasing.  When you have an unwanted visitor like a ghost, apparition, or spook how you deal with them is actually very simple. Its 4 simple words: "Please Go A Way". Honestly, that's it. Once a spirit understands that it is not welcome, it will leave (for the most part). Very rarely do I come across a spirit who sticks around once they become aware that they are no longer welcome. If you have asked them to leave, and they have not within an hour or so, then you need to call in the big guns like Durham Rescue Mediums or someone like myself. We are trained and educated to handle these types of situations. Please do not attempt to make them leave by yourself. We do not work alone, neither should you. If we cant get to you right away, you can without causing any harm, "smudge" the home or space. Here is a good website for tips on how to smudge: http://www.nativeamericanresearch.org/smudging.html This will neutralize the energy in the space, thus allowing you to feel more comfortable.  In all my years of working with spirit and the other side, only a handful of times have they actually been strong enough to manifest into something that can actually cause hurt or harm. This is extremely rare and very unusual. The way I tell people to act when they have a spirit in their home is like kids in a school yard. If you play nice, so will they!

I hope you all are well and with good spirits (lol).
Recently I have come across a few people who are trying to break the ties that bind, so to speak. Every person is different, and so is every situation. More and more I'm finding that we are all feeling the need to let go of people and relationships that are not serving any purpose. The only challenge with this is that there is almost always some sort of emotional tie that keeps us hanging on. There is a way to lessen the emotional attachment, so that you can move on with your life.  I don't remember who told me this, or where I may have read it, but I need to share this with you. If / when I do, I will certainly give credit where it is due. This is not my technique, but I recognize how powerful and truly needed it is.

Cutting the Cords
We are all energy. We have energy centers within the body called chakras. One of the chakras is at the belly button, precisely where the soul is anchored to the body.  When you were conceived, you had a umbilical cord that ran from your belly button to your mothers placenta (life sac).  This cord kept you alive, kept you connected and nourished you with energy, blood, and nutrients. After you are born, this physical cord is cut, but the spiritual/metaphysical cord remained.  This is where you connect with all people. This is where the spirit connects with other spirits.

So, for every connection we make, a silver cord comes from your belly button and extends out to the other person's belly button (very similar to the connection you had with your mother). The stronger the bond or tie between you, the more cords..... for example:

Spouse, Partners, Parents, Children, Siblings = 3 Cords
Good friends, Best Friends, Cousins, Some Co-Workers = 2 Cords
Acquaintances = 1 Cord

Make sense?

So, when we understand that we are metaphysically tied together, it makes much more sense to release the tie, so that the emotional/spiritual aspect can let it go.

To cut the ties, you need to get into a meditative state. Clear your mind and remove all other distractions.  Then, imagine yourself in a neutral space, (a park, cafe, by the lake). Now, imagine the other person standing in front of you. Welcome them, and start a dialogue. Talk to this person, tell them how you feel, what you need, or just what you need to clear. Once you have cleared the air, you can invite them to do the same if you wish. When this has been done, you then need to see the cords between you. Most of the time, people are cutting cords with someone they love, but need to let go of, so there are usually at least 2, but probably 3 cords between you. Decide how many you'd like to cut, but don't feel like you need to cut them all at the same time. You may still want this person in your life, but not with such an emotional tie. When you have decided, I want you to reach into your pocket or bag, and pull out a pair of scissors or a pocket knife. You then cut the cord(s). You will not feel any physical pain, but you may feel a sense of release, as if a burden has been lifted. Make sure you tell this person that they are still loved (because we really do love everyone, even the ones we struggle with). Also thank them for sharing this experience and lesson with you. Let them go back to where ever they were, and take a moment to thank yourself for allowing this to change. When your ready come back to the here and now.

You may need to do this a few times, and as I said, you may not want to cut all ties at the same time. If you have any questions, feel free to email me & ask. This technique is a combination of a few things: hypnosis, meditation, & visualization. Remember, Thoughts ARE Things, and so if your intention is to let this person go, this is what will happen.

They say life is what you make it. So why not make it great? Who says you can't do all the things you dream of. Get up and get busy already! You can do it. Lately I've had a lot of clients come asking about a different path, or changing careers. You know, I've always said, if you can dream it, you can do it, you just gotta get up off your butt!
We are not here to have things given to us. When we incarnate to the earth, it is to learn lessons (on many levels I might add). So to think that your just going to get something you really want just because you 'wish' for it is silly. You need to do the leg work involved. You need to build a foundation before you can build a house. It doesn't hurt to ask the Universe or God of your understanding for help, but by no means will it just be given to you. Instead of asking to become a rock star, why not ask for the opportunity to show people what a great singer/musician you are? By asking that, you are accepting your personal responsibility. You would need to spend time practicing your craft to be a great singer/musician. The opportunity can be given, and actually so can the talent, but if you don't work to improve it, you'll never be a rock star. The same goes for Mediums & Psychics. We need to practice our craft. Every week I set aside 1-2 hours to meditate and communicate with spirit and the collective consciousness. By doing this, I am practicing my skills, a "fine tuning of my instrument" if you will. I also gather with like minded people to share information and experiences on a weekly basis. Finding someone to relate to can be very rewarding. You may not have many things in common, but when you do feel that sense of connection, it can open your eyes to new possibilities, and new ways of thinking.

    Thanks to some help from my family, friends and my fantastic husband, my small business has really taken off.  People are having to wait to see me, which is nice for me to know I'm in high demand, but not so great for my clients. I am trying to open my schedule up as much as I can Lovies, please bear with me!
    Interestingly enough, the busier I am,  the more accurate my work becomes! I always knew practice makes perfect, but who would have thought that is the case when it comes to giving messages.  I shouldn't be so surprised. I tell my students that all the time. I guess it just shocked me that my skills and abilities were improving at such a drastic rate.
    Recently the most common question I get is "how accurate are you?".  I'm as accurate as you allow me to be. I know that seems like a funny answer, but if you aren't open to hearing new possibilities, then to you, I wouldn't be accurate at all. Also, if you keep information from me, or falsify information, I can't be accurate. There is some truth in everything we say, so I may still be able to get some information, but it wont be of the best quality.
    Another common question that has come up recently is "Can you read everyone?". The simple answer is No. First of all, I need permission to read for you. So no, I can't just read people I pass by on the street, in a store, or in a class.  Secondly, I can't read everyone. Some people have a kind of 'psychic wall' around them that prevents me from seeing or talking to their spirit guides & loved ones. This wall is usually made by that person not being open to the possibility of having a reading done. It can even be done subconsciously.  Also sometimes I can't read for friends or loved ones because my intention for them (wanting the best for them) gets in the way. In a nut shell, No, I can't read everyone.
